The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta received a visit from four postgraduate students and five Khon Kaen University (KKU) lecturers (10/8/18), the arrival was received directly by Dr Titin Purwaningsih, S.IP., M.Sc. (Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences UMY) and Dr Muchammad Zaenuri, M.Sc. (Chair of Government Science Study Program). KKU’s visit was led by Prof. Sekson Yongvanit is accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Somnuek Panyasing, Dr Rungarun Boonsayan and Miss. Pornsan Piyanantisak.
This 9-day academic visit has variety of activities, such as International Seminars, Lecture Seminars, cultural activities and field practicums to study ecotourism and resilience of the people of the slopes of Mount Merapi in eruption disaster management.
After passing through a long Thailand-Indonesia trip the postgraduate students and KKU lecturers were picked up by the committee team consisting of various study programs under the coordination of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UMY especially from Government Science and International Program of Governmental Affairs and Administration (IGOV) to have dinner.
The welcoming dinner was held on Friday, 10 August 2018 at Kampung Mataraman Jln Parangtritis, Bantul. This dinner was also attended by Prof. Dr Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc. (Vice Rector for Cooperation and International Affairs, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta). On this occasion, the committee presented several typical Yogyakarta traditional dinner and introduce Indonesian culture while tasting its culinary dishes. Seen the Lecturers and KKU postgraduate students enjoyed the dishes and events.(IP-IGOV)
