On October 2, 2017, the International Program of Government Affairs and Administration (IGOV) Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta welcomes the US Students who are joining the Dragon Program 2017-2018. ‘Where there be Dragon’ is a program that collaborate with the Princeton University to send the students to other countries to learn the culture and language in the country where they are visit at a year before they start their study in University.
“This is not the first time we send our students to Indonesia. However, it is quite different with the previous dragon program which just 2 months, but now it is one semester. I do really thankful to IGOV and UMY who has given us the chance to learn Bahasa and help us a lot with the admission stuffs such as Visa and etc. Terimakasih banyak, we are really appreciate it” said Christine a teacher of US Student.
Other international students who have accepted as the Volunteers for the Dragon Program will assist the US Studenst in the whole of semester. These volunteers are assigned as their Buddies on Bahasa class and assistants for one semester. “It is such a great time to meet the Dragon students again this year. Hopefully, we can improve ourselves in terms of the services. We are very pleased to know that you will learn Bahasa and adapt the Indonesian culture here” said the IGOV Secretary, Rijal Ramdani.
