Yogyakarta, Monday, 5 March 2018, International Program of Government Affairs and Administration (IGOV) Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held a public hearing for IGOV Students to deliver their need as well as to listen to what the challenges they have been faced so far. It may help the improvement of IGOV as the department itself to provide the better services for the students.
In addition, the public hearing held to introduce the new IGOV Director– Dr.phil. Ridho Al-Hamdi, MA, who just appointed as the new Director. “This is my first time running the department as a Director. Actually, I just accomplished my Ph.D. in German, so I am a bit amazed and blessed at the same time that has given the chance to lead IGOV. I hope we can work together for our better department.” said Dr.phil. Ridho Al-Hamdi, MA
In term of discussion, the Students complained about the information which sometimes informs suddenly and it seems unprepared. Also, the requirements of Exchange Program that makes the students confuse. Since currently not only IGOV who process the Exchange Program but also IRO (International Relations Office). As well as the attendance of the lecturers who are rarely coming to the class and sometimes late in reporting the grades.
In challenges, the students are struggling to deal with the International Language (read: English) in understanding all of the lectures. It is not a big secret anymore that some students in International classes are hardly dealing with the language. Nevertheless, Mr. Ridho has prepared some breakthrough to improve the IGOV Students capabilities.
