Yogyakarta (12/10) – Yogyakarta (12/10) – The development of the times requires someone to be able to complete work quickly and be able to solve a problem adaptively. This self-adjustment ability is very necessary given the fast-paced and uncertain changes in the environment. To support this capability, it is necessary to increase the capacity of Human Resources (HR) in an organization so that it can develop and can continue to adapt to environmental changes. In general, capacity building can be defined as a process of increasing the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behavior of human resources.
International Program of Government Affairs and Administration Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY) has a fairly active student community as a forum for all International Government Student Community (IGSC) students to develop themselves. Of course, this needs to be supported by IGOV UMY to provide workshops to increase the capacity of human resources to improve the skills needed to take part in the mandatory program in the international class program, namely student exchange. In addition, IGSC students must also participate in the development of IGSC in the future so they need to be prepared to be able to manage IGSC properly and correctly. In both activities, students need to have adaptability skills quickly and precisely to produce quality Student Exchange activities as well as manage and organize the organization to be better and professional in the hope of making this organization more developed.
Therefore, IGOV UMY held a “Workshop on Capacity Building for IGSC Management” which was held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, which took place in the Main Meeting Room, AR Building. Fachrudin A Lt. 5, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This activity was attended by the Director of IGOV UMY, Sakir Ridho Wijaya, S.IP., M.IP, Arie Kusuma Paksi, Ph.D. as resource persons at this activity, IGOV students batch 2020 to 2022, and several IGOV UMY alumni. The activity began with the socialization of SIGOV and the Website as an agile UMY IGOV service facility, with SIGOV students, can save time and energy to take care of administrative needs and registration of programs at IGOV UMY. After the SIGOV socialization activity, it continued with the presentation of material presented by Mr. Arie with the topic “Adaptable Personality” this topic can help IGOV UMY students during the Student Exchange program and when students manage IGSC. The activity continued with the distribution of subsidies for IGOV UMY students who would conduct Student Exchange and sharing sessions with IGOV UMY alumni.
With this activity, IGOV UMY students can get new insights and can prepare things that need to be prepared to do Student Exchange. In addition, IGOV students can get new insights about preparation before entering the world of work from sharing sessions conducted by alumni. “With this activity, I can get a lot of benefits, regarding Student Exchange and even new insights to prepare supplies and add my value to compete in the world of work from sharing sessions,” said Muhammad Ariq, one of the 2021 IGOV students.
