Introduce Mendeley from an early age, IGOV UMY’s Bahasa Indonesia class Held a Workshop on Using Mendeley

Yogyakarta (19/10) – Scientific publications are currently being intensively promoted in higher education institutions to catch up with journal publications from other countries. We are quite far behind compared to neighboring countries, such as Malaysia, and even below Vietnam. The term scientific publication even often sounds foreign to academics, both lecturers and students and is still a scourge for students, especially final year students who have to publish their thesis, thesis, and/or dissertation in the form of a journal. Government Science students are familiar with tasks that lead to scientific writing, such as making papers, articles, etc. Therefore, several tools can be used by students to make it easier to carry out their assignments and to do a thesis, namely, Mendeley.

Mendeley is software whose birth was inspired by an attempt to integrate “citation & reference manager” into a social network. With this kind of network, researchers in various parts of the world can collaborate and share research data.

Therefore, to make it easier for students to do assignments and improve soft skills, the Indonesian Language Course taught by Sakir Ridho Wijaya, S.IP., M.IP., provided workshops for IGOV UMY batch 2022 students using Mendeley. This activity was held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, and took place in Classroom 401, Lt. 4 UMY Postgraduate Building. With this workshop, it is hoped that it can help students when facing assignments that lead to scientific writing and can make it easier for them when they want to do collaborative research. (ARP)
