Providing Actual Learning, 3rd IGoPSS Visits DIY Provincial Government Office

Yogyakarta (18/7) – To provide actual learning and real learning, the 3rd International Government and Politics Summer School (3rd IGoPSS) held a visit to the Provincial Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY Provincial Government). The visit was held on Monday, July 18, 2022, the event took place on a hybrid basis. At the event, participants were given material about Open Government in the DIY Provincial Government, it aims to provide actual learning and find out examples of case studies in the DIY Provincial Government directly.

In addition, the visit was aimed at introducing the DIY Provincial government because every subject taught at the 3rd IGoPSS event was not far from the government in DIY. Therefore, the 3rd IGoPSS visited the DIY Provincial Government so that the participants could get a direct perspective on how the DIY Provincial Government accommodates, answers, and provides innovative solutions to the complaints of the people in DIY. Furthermore, the participants were also able to understand the history and features of DIY such as the DIY region has a provincial leader, and a king, which is certainly different from other regions.

 

From the visit to the DIY Provincial Government, it is hoped that the participants can get to know and know the history of the government and administrative areas of the DIY Provincial Government directly. One of the 3rd IGoPSS participants stated that he was very interested in the visit to the DIY Provincial Government “The visit to the DIY Provincial Government is very interesting, we can discuss directly with the employees who are there besides, they show us about history and important places in the area of ​​the DIY Provincial Government which is very amazing, and I gained new knowledge that, not all places in the DIY Provincial Government can be entered by ordinary people,” said Alkestid Sterjo from the University of Bradford.
