Sharing The Experience Of Practitioners, IGOV UMY Invites Practitioners From Kementrian Keuangan To Teach

Yogyakarta (20/10) – Merdeka Belajar Kampus Mengajar (MBKM) is a program that operates under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Culture to encourage students to explore various sciences as provisions when entering the world of work in the future. MBKM has various programs implemented by universities to improve students’ skills and competencies, one of which is “Praktisi Mengajar”. Praktisi mengajar is a form of synergy between expert practitioners and lecturers who facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise between academics and professionals in the work environment. This synergy is held in courses that are considered relevant to certain professions. The objectives of implementing teaching practitioners are to mature the competence of fresh graduates with qualifications in the world of work, to stimulate collaboration between universities and industry, and to prepare superior and competitive human resources for future generations.

the International Program of Government Affairs and Administration of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY) and the UMY Government Science Study Program (Prodi IP UMY) are one of the study programs that implement teaching practitioner programs in their teaching and learning activities. This teaching practitioner is held by providing lecture materials by practitioners who have collaborated with IP UMY with a learning intensity of 6 meetings in one semester. One of the courses that have been implemented in the program is Financial Government taught by Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, M.Si. with practitioner Dinar Ayu Adeline from the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia(Kemenkeu-RI).

With practitioners who are directly involved in teaching and learning activities, students can find out what the actual situation is in the world of work and the implementation of the courses they are studying. This activity is expected to produce quality graduates who are highly competitive and ready to work. In addition, this activity is something new and fun for students where practitioners can provide an overview of the world of practitioners and provide a new color to teaching and learning activities. This was confirmed by Amanda Aspasila Dilla, IGOV UMY Student Batch 2021.

“With teaching practitioners, I feel that teaching and learning activities are more colorful and more exciting because we learn not only theory but also the skills needed in the world of work. In addition, we can also know the implementation of courses in the world of work or an overview of the world of practitioners” Manda said. (ARP)
