Yogyakarta (22/2) – SIAS International University (SIAS) was established in 1998 and is the first American-owned university in China. It is associated with Zhengzhou University, the finest university project 211 in Henan Province, China, and Fort Hays State University, Kansas, USA.
SIAS concentrates on 9 disciplines, including Arts, Sciences, Engineering, Economics, Management, Law, Education, and Nursing, with 14 Diploma study areas, 67 Bachelor’s degree fields of study, and 6 combined degrees with Fort Hays State University in the United States. There are 24,500 students, including 73 international students from 20 different countries.
Sias International School of Zhengzhou New District, Zhengzhou (Sias IS) began as Dr. Shawn Chen’s dream of an English-language school where students gain a strong academic background in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) and draw inspiration and creativity for innovation from the arts. He envisioned a campus with plenty of open space for students to learn outside of the classroom, as well as Olympic-caliber sports fields, a swimming pool, and a gymnasium for students to keep healthy minds and bodies via physical activities, athletics, and competitive sports.
There are already six students from the International Program of Government Affairs and Administration of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY) who have conducted student exchanges. One of the six students took one year or 3 semesters of study at SIAS.
