Choosing Exchange in South Korea, Salsa arrives in Winter.

Busan (1/2) Exchange is a must-do program for international class students, and Salsa Della is no exception. He is an IGOV UMY 21′ student who successfully passed the exchange to South Korea after completing a series of selections by Cooperation and International Affairs (CIA) UMY. This made Salsa the first IGOV UMY student to do an exchange at Dong-A University, Busan, South Korea.

Salsa chose South Korea to do the study exchange because she said she was happy with South Korean culture, such as K-Pop, South Korean food, and South Korean traditional clothes. Salsa can and is fluent in Korean because there were Korean lessons when she was in senior high school.

Salsa left for Korea on February 23, 2023, from Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, East Jakarta. She will do the exchange for one semester, from March to July 2023. Salsa admits that she is happy and that there were no problems during the trip, especially when she arrived in Korea. She says she is happy because she can speak Korean with native Koreans. (FLT)

IGOV Open Registration for the Content Creator Team

Yogyakarta (24/2) IGOV UMY is known for its good management of social media at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). Most recently, IGOV UMY received the most active social media title from Biro Humas dan Protokol (BHP). This title was obtained after UMY held the most active social media competition for all study programs at UMY. Therefore, this good thing must be maintained.

To maintain social media standards, IGOV UMY opens internship opportunities for final-year students of all majors at UMY. The internship position available is that of a content creator. Apprentice registration is open from February 16 to February 23, with an interview on February 24. Participants in the forthcoming recruitment this time were 7 students who came from various study programs such as English Language Education, Communication Studies, Law, and IGOV UMY itself.

There are three stages to the test that participants must pass: administration selection, namely Administration Selection, Interview, and content creation test. After participating in all the series, Nurul Izzah Aulia from English Education was selected to join the internship at IGOV UMY. The selection of Nurul was made because Nurul was considered capable of completing all the selection stages properly and correctly. Enlivening Milad UMY, IGOV Staff took part in the Badminton Competition

Yogyakarta (24/2) Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta has just celebrated its 42nd anniversary. UMY is celebrating its 42nd birthday with a series of events, including the unveiling of the logo, the UMY Milad Contest, and the UMY Anniversary Reflection Night. The big theme of this year’s 42nd anniversary of UMY is ‘Keep Moving On’. This big theme means that the campus must continue to move in any situation the pandemic is a test for all institutions and individuals.

One of the IGOV UMY staff, Foltama Juna, took part in the men’s doubles badminton competition between UMY employees. There were 48 people participating in this badminton competition which were divided into 6 groups with a pair draw system. Folta and his partner, Yanto, are cleaning staff at the Faculty of Economics. Played three times in the group phase Folta and Yanto won two matches and lost one. The result put Folta and Yanto in second place in Group D.

In the last eight, Folta and Yanto met Afiq and Sudaraja, but unfortunately, Folta had to admit defeat with a score of 16-30.

Magang Studi Independen Bersertifikat Kemendikbud Program was passed by two IGOV UMY students. 

Yogyakarta (23/2) Magang Studi Independen Bersertifikat (MSIB) is a program created by the Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi (Ditjen Dikti) Kemendikbudristek with the aim of providing space for students to gain experience in knowing the professional world and creating a professional workforce. Students who wish to graduate are provided with a place to enter the world of their careers, where soft skill development programs are given by the career center. This program can also replace as many as 20 credits of students who take part in this program.

Awang Rajaprakoso Purnomo and Luthfiyyah Putri Rahmaningrum are IGOV UMY students in the class of 2020 who have successfully passed the MSIB program. Awang and Lutfi managed to pass PT. Erajaya Swasembada as Social Media Intern and Solo Technopark as Strategic Event and Campaign Officer. Awang said that this was a golden opportunity because he could carry out an internship with other participants from various well-known campuses in Indonesia. “It’s really exciting, bro, because the participants are from different campuses and can open new perspectives,” said Awang.

Nine IGOV students gained new experiences when they left for a study exchange in Thailand.

Chiang Mai (21/2) The student exchange program is a mandatory program that must be implemented by students of the International Program of Government Affairs and Administration of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY). Nine students left for Maeojo University Thailand on February 21, 2023, and returned on May 20, 2023.The nine people are Suryaningsih, Septi Nurdian Nova, Muhammad Bagus Zamani, Sherin Nawang Nauroh Nazhifah, Indira Tsaqifa Ratnoputeri, Cholida Tsania Aulia, Dinda Fauziah , Nadia Tri, Nurhidaanti, and Dinda Nur Haliza. The departure of the participants was divided into two groups, namely from the Yogyakarta route consisting of two participants and the other participants via the Jakarta route. All participants will gather together upon arrival at Chiang Mai Airport, Bangkok.

Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, IGOV UMY students received a warm and friendly welcome from the airport staff. The officers really helped the students when they checked their passports and asked about the goals of IGOV UMY students going to Thailand.

Aside from that, living in the Land of White Elephants forces them to try to enforce order in accordance with Thai rules and culture, one of which is the rules for using public restrooms. Unlike in Indonesia, toilets in Thailand do not require the use of a lot of water, so participants must keep the toilets clean and dry. In addition, not all Thai people can communicate using English, so participants use sign language in order to communicate well with Thai people. Another alternative is using Google Translate as an effective means of communication while in Thailand.

Providing Support, IGOV UMY Provides Subsidies for 15 Exchange Students Abroad

Yogyakarta (16/2) The mandatory program for international Class Students, namely Student Exchange, has been carried out by IGOV with various international partners. Many benefits can be obtained from this program, such as; opening international relations, opening wider perspectives, improving English language skills, and much more. IGOV UMY has dispatched many students for exchange abroad, this semester there are 15 students who have gone for exchange abroad. 9 exchange students to Maejo University Thailand, 3 exchange students to Universiti Sains Malaysia, 1 exchange student to Universiti Malaysia Pahang, 1 exchange student to Dong-A University South Korea, and 1 exchange student to Asia University Taiwan.

All students who will go on exchange this semester are very happy and enthusiastic, and don’t forget that IGOV UMY provides counseling, debriefing and, at the same time, provides subsidies for students who will exchange for one semester at IGOV UMY partner universities.

Holding a Dinner, IGOV UMY Exchanged Gifts with Maejo University Students

Yogyakarta (11/2) – The International Program of Government Affairs and Administration the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY) has finished carrying out inbound exchanges with participants, namely two Maejo University Thailand students. This program was carried out for four months from October 2022 – February 2023, with participants namely Amnat Arthan (Neck) and Chakorn Uppala (Sa).

After four months in Indonesia, Neck and Cha will return to their home country, Thailand. They both said they were happy because they could get experiences that they had never had before. Gained new experiences such as getting to know Indonesian culture, Indonesian people’s habits, and also traveling in Indonesia. Not only that, Neck and Cha admitted that they really enjoyed the courses taught at IGOV UMY such as Agile Government, Urban Government, and many more.

Before returning to Thailand, Neck and Cha received an invitation to dinner from the Director of IGOV UMY, namely Sakir Ridho Wijaya, S.IP., M.IP., who was accompanied by Foltama Juna. This event took place at Bakmi Jowo Sinten Remen, Kasihan, Bantul, on Saturday, February 11 February 2023.The event went quite conducive, Neck and Cha really liked the Special Fried Rice in the Restaurant, not only that there we also exchanged gifts, from IGOV give a tumbler and from them give a cloth that is tied on the stomach and make a scarf too. Join KKN Mandiri, IGOV students conduct a survey in Lombok.

Lombok (10/2) – The Community Service Program (KKN) is an obligation that must be followed by students at Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University. It supports the Tridarma of Higher Education namely teaching, research, and community service. Community service is implemented through KKN.

KKN Mandiri is a program carried out by UMY to reach areas in the 3T (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged) areas. There are more than ten KKN Mandiri at UMY, one of which is Generation Indonesia Mengabdi (Genesia). The location for the KKN Mandiri Genesia implementation is Bilok Petung Village, Sembalun District, East Lombok Regency, NTB. Before carrying out the Mandiri KKN program, each Mandiri KKN must make observations represented by several group members. Fadhila Septiyaning IGOV batch 2020 is a member of the Genesia Mandiri KKN. Fadhila represented the education division in the observation. According to Her, this observation is very important considering that a good work program starts with good preparation. This preparation can be done in various ways, one of which is by observation.

Fadhila revealed that the KKN Mandiri Genesia observations took place over a 10-day period, from February 9 to February 16, 2023.This observation was taken by train from Yogyakarta to Surabaya, then continued by ship from Tanjung Perak port to Lombok port.

Boosting School Promotion, IGOV UMY held Roadshows to Various Regions

Yogyakarta (3/2) – Promotion to school is something that all universities, both public and private, must do. This is done in order to further enhance the brand awareness of a study program or university. In addition, one of the efforts to get quality prospective students is to promote the introduction of the study program to both students and teachers.

IGOV UMY conducted a roadshow activity with the Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University Admission Bureau. There are several cities in Indonesia that are the destinations for the roadshow conducted by IGOV UMY, such as Tangerang, Tulungagung, Klaten, and Sleman. IGOV was represented by Aditya Fatmandadika Qurnain, IGOV Batch 2020. This activity took place through several different schemes in each city, such as direct presentations to classes, campus exhibitions with various other universities, and many more.

From the beginning of January to the end of February, this activity was carried out in Tulungagung on January 15-17, 2023; Klaten on January 26-28, 2023; Tangerang on January 29-31, 2023; Pakem, Sleman, and Solo on February 4-8, 2023; and Solo on January 20, 2023.This activity takes place in various schools, both public and private.

Visit Borobudur, Thai Students are very Enthusiastic

Magelang (27/12) – Various types of tourism are offered in Jogja, ranging from cultural, historical, and nature tourism to spiritual tourism. Because Jogja is known as a favorite tourist spot, of course it offers a variety of excellent tourist attractions that you must visit when visiting this student city. One of the tourist objects is the Borobudur Temple.

This Borobudur Temple is actually not located right in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, but in Magelang, Central Java, or about 40 KM from downtown Jogja. However, this largest Buddhist temple in the world is one of the tourist attractions that you must visit if you are on vacation in Jogja. Borobudur Temple is famous to various parts of the world, this temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the world.

Amnat Arthan (Neck) and Chakorn Uppala (Sa) are students of Maejo University Thailand who had the opportunity to carry out an Inbound Exchange to Ilmu Pemerintahan (IGOV UMY). They were accompanied by Efriza Nur Hadi IGOV Batch 2022 to the Borobudur Temple. This program is called the Cultural Exchnge. The Cultural Exchange was held with the aim of providing knowledge related to culture and culture in Indonesia, especially in the city of Yogyakarta. Neck and Sa said they were very happy to be able to visit Borobudur Temple, especially since they are both Buddhists.
