To Improve the Branding of UMY’s IP Study Program, UMY IP Study Program Held Creative Digital Training for Tendik

Yogyakarta (17/9) – The Government Science Study Program of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (Prodi IP UMY) has just held a training activity for Capacity Building for Education Personnel through Service Excellent and Digital Creative Training funded by the Independent Campus Competition Program Grant (PK-KM). ) Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology for Fiscal Year 2022. The activity was held on 17-18 September 2022 at Griya Persada Hotel & Convention Resort, Yogyakarta.

The training began with the material on Building Digital Branding, which was resourced by Kadek Primayudi, S.Sn., M.Sn who gave the urgency that branding is an important thing so that a product can be recognized by consumers and audiences and to differentiate it from competitors. As he said, “For example in Kotagede, the people of Kotagede are aware of the tourism potential they have. Then the community through creative media documents the activities in Kotagede based on a storytelling about life in Kotagede. Branding can be raised through new information that attracts the attention of the audience and raises awareness. new image.” he said.


The same thing was conveyed by Cahyo Purnomo Edi, S.Sos., with the material for Publication Collaboration Design in Mass Media who said that packaging news that was interesting and different from competitors, could attract consumers to be more interested in reading the news that had been made.

“How to package news can be created to support news to be more interesting. Title selection, diction games, and color selection are important elements to attract the attention of the audience. News should not be monotonous, only limited to information or testimonials about internal campuses but able to relate the news to national issues. “


The training ended with a Sharing Session: Optimizing Social Media Branding as an Information Center, resourced by Bhakti Gusti Walinegoro, S.I.P. The activity discussed re-optimizing the Media Creative Study Program of IP UMY, Lab IP UMY, and IGOV UMY to align the goals, vision, and mission to get clear and precise goals and targets. (ARP)
