Yogyakarta – Wednesday (20/10). Febriana Andiani Putri, IGOV UMY student from batch 2018 won a National level debate championship which was held via Zoom Meeting by CIC (Creativity in Campus) Sari Mulia University, Banjarmasin. CIC in 2021 presented activities with “Awakening the enthusiasm, creativity, and productivity of Generation Z in the new normal era” as their theme.
Febriana is one of the Victori Debat UMY team’s members along with Esti Andriyani (IP 2018) and Lastrafila Alnoriz (IK 2019). The team won as the 3rd runner and bring a good name to UMY on the national stage.
“It’s a been a while since I participated in debate championship, then I found the info of the debate so I signed up out of curiosity. I did not have the intention to win the championship, just to cure my longing to participate in the debating championship and do something meaningful in my free time,” said Febriana.
The Victori Debat UMY team participated in the championship without any expectations or a big preparation, they just prepared themselves a day before the D-day of the championship. “We actually just discussed the debate motions and practiced them for a really short time,” added Febriana.
Through her achievement, Febriana also hangs her hope, “I hope this achievement can motivate me to do better, achieve more, evaluate myself, and also as a motivation for my friends to keep striving for achievement in the national stage or international stage” (DA)
