Yogyakarta (6/12) – The visiting professor this time raised the theme Introduction to Economics which discussed the topic of Public Administration Theory, an activity that is routinely held by the International Program of Government Affairs and Administration at Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University (IGOV UMY) is a form of concern for its students for the sake of creating an international climate and help deepen students’ knowledge of current issues regarding governance in an international sphere that they may not get in class.

On this occasion, presenting a speaker named Dr. Wei Yang who is an international lecturer at the College of Local Administration, Khon Kaen University, Thailand was attended by all IGOV Batch 2022 students. It started at 12.32 and began with information about the ASEAN GMS scholarship from IGOVers 2014, Hidayatullah Hamim. After that, it was followed by material presented by Dr. Wei Yang, who opened with a discussion of the five paradigms of Public Administration and went into the core material discussing Public Administration theories, such as Critics of Classical Organizational Theory, Neo-Classical Public Administration, and Modern Theory.

Furthermore, the speaker stated that the concept of Good Governance is a combination of Classical and Neo-Classical Theories approaches which are expected to be able to provide effectiveness to civil society and create a successful private sector. The speaker also added an explanation regarding the problem of inequality in China Starts from the poor and rich gap, such as in Beijing, and other inequalities, such as economic inequality and social inequality. The visiting professor went well and the topics raised were also interesting, thus raising the curiosity of the participants who were accommodated in the question and answer session at the end of the event as well as the closing.
