Join KKN Mandiri, IGOV students conduct a survey in Lombok.

Lombok (10/2) – The Community Service Program (KKN) is an obligation that must be followed by students at Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University. It supports the Tridarma of Higher Education namely teaching, research, and community service. Community service is implemented through KKN.

KKN Mandiri is a program carried out by UMY to reach areas in the 3T (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged) areas. There are more than ten KKN Mandiri at UMY, one of which is Generation Indonesia Mengabdi (Genesia). The location for the KKN Mandiri Genesia implementation is Bilok Petung Village, Sembalun District, East Lombok Regency, NTB. Before carrying out the Mandiri KKN program, each Mandiri KKN must make observations represented by several group members. Fadhila Septiyaning IGOV batch 2020 is a member of the Genesia Mandiri KKN. Fadhila represented the education division in the observation. According to Her, this observation is very important considering that a good work program starts with good preparation. This preparation can be done in various ways, one of which is by observation.

Fadhila revealed that the KKN Mandiri Genesia observations took place over a 10-day period, from February 9 to February 16, 2023.This observation was taken by train from Yogyakarta to Surabaya, then continued by ship from Tanjung Perak port to Lombok port.

“There is a lot of potential in Bilok Village, because this village is passed by the Mount Rinjani hiking trail. However, there is a lot that needs to be improved, such as the management of Mount Rinjani Climbing Tourism and Equitable Education,” said Fadhila (FLT).
