One of the Most Prestigious Higher Education Institutions in Taiwan

Yogyakarta (23/2) – Asia University (AU) is a forward-thinking, pioneering, and rapidly expanding university that was formed to create a great and comprehensive university with international competitiveness. Karl Jaspers, a German philosopher, believed that an ideal university should have three components: academic teaching, scientific research, and creative cultural life, all of which we have been pursuing for years since the school’s inception. AU has exhibited excellence in academic achievement over the last 14 years and has been placed first in various higher education evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE).
It was not only rated as the best among newly created universities in Taiwan but it was also awarded prestigious projects from the Ministry of Education, known as the Program for Promoting Teaching Excellence Universities, for ten years in a row. Meanwhile, multiple world university rankings have given AU an international reputation. According to the Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2014, for example, AU was placed 53rd out of the top 100 universities. Furthermore, the Times Higher Education Ranking ranked AU 99th out of the 100 finest universities under 50 years old in the globe and 83rd out of the top 100 universities in Asia.
To increase the amount and quality of research outputs, AU has developed research centers in each college, such as the Center for Food Safety, the T-DNA Tagged Rice Service Center and the Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms Research Center in the College of Medical and Health Science. AU also houses the Center for Semantic Biomedical Computing in the College of Information and Electrical Engineering, the Center for Leisure Industry and Rural Tourism in the College of Management, the Internet Addiction Prevention Center in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Center for Animation and Game Development in the College of Creative Design.
This campus is suitable for students who like to research because many facilities and sciences support you. Right now, The International Program of Government Affairs and Administration of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY) sends its students to online student exchange. In addition to conducting student exchange IGOV UMY and AU cooperate in the form of research exchange. (ARP)
