Sharing the Experience of Practitioners, IGOV UMY Invites Practitioners from DPR-RI to Teach

Yogyakarta (5/10) – Merdeka Belajar Kampus Mengajar (MBKM) is a program that operates under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Culture to encourage students to explore various sciences as provisions when entering the world of work in the future. MBKM has various programs implemented by universities to improve students’ skills and competencies, one of which is “Praktisi Mengajar”. Praktisi mengajar is a form of synergy between expert practitioners and lecturers who facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise between academics and professionals in the work environment. This synergy is held in courses that are considered relevant to certain professions. The objectives of implementing teaching practitioners are to mature the competence of fresh graduates with qualifications in the world of work, to stimulate collaboration between universities and industry, and to prepare superior and competitive human resources for future generations.

the International Program of Government Affairs and Administration of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY) and the UMY Government Science Study Program (Prodi IP UMY) are one of the study programs that implement teaching practitioner programs in their teaching and learning activities. This teaching practitioner is held by providing lecture materials by practitioners who have collaborated with IP UMY with a learning intensity of 6 meetings in one semester. One of the courses that have implemented the program is Bahasa Indonesia (Teknik Penulisan Karya Ilmiah) taught by Sakir Ridho Wijaya, S.IP., M.IP., with practitioner Farida Azzahra from Legal Expert, House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia ( DPR-RI).

With practitioners who are directly involved in teaching and learning activities, students can find out what the actual situation is in the world of work and the implementation of the courses they are studying. This activity is expected to produce quality graduates who are highly competitive and ready to work. In addition, this activity is something new and fun for students where practitioners can provide an overview of the world of practitioners and provide a new color to teaching and learning activities. “With teaching practitioners, I feel that teaching and learning activities are more colorful and more exciting because we learn not only theory but also the skills needed in the world of work. Preserving Batik Cultural Heritage, IGOV Students Use Batik During Teaching and Learning Activities

Yogyakarta (4/10) – National Batik Day is an Indonesian national holiday commemorating the designation of batik as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO on October 2, 2009. President Suharto initially introduced batik to the worldwide community when attending a United Nations convention. On September 4, 2008, the office of the Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare, representing the Government of Indonesia and the Indonesian batik community, registered Indonesian batik for intangible cultural heritage (ICH) status through the UNESCO office in Jakarta.

The application for batik for UNESCO’s Humanitarian Heritage for Oral and Intangible Culture was officially accepted on January 9, 2009, and batik was confirmed on October 2, 2009, at the fourth session of the Inter-Governmental Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage held in Abu Dhabi. During the summit, batik was officially recognized by UNESCO as a Humanitarian Heritage of Masterpieces of Oral and Intangible Culture. To raise public awareness of efforts to maintain and enhance Indonesian batik, the Indonesian government issued Presidential Decree No. 33 of 2009, which established National Batik Day.

To celebrate the national batik holiday, students of the International Program of Government Affairs and Administration, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY) use batik during teaching and learning activities, this activity is carried out to preserve the cultural heritage of Indonesia which we should be proud of.

Standard Operating Procedure Bachelor Thesis at IGOV UMY

Yogyakarta (3/10) – Every student who enters the final semester will be faced with a thesis. Therefore, final-year students must know how to properly submit a thesis title. A title that is received quickly by the campus will certainly make the thesis process faster. Students must of course be able to complete a thesis as one of the requirements to be able to graduate from campus. Before writing a thesis, generally, the campus will ask students to submit a title and explain what the urgency behind the title is. The following is how to apply for a title at IGOV UMY:

1. Submit your title proposal (must be in English) to https://sinthesis.umy.ac.id/, while showing your TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 450 (by LTC UMY or any credible institution) to the IGOV office. The system opens from 1-20 every month.

2. We will assign you the principal supervisor, then have the consultation

3. Once you finished the proposal, submit your proof to https://bit.ly/IPSempro for scheduling your exam. Here, you need to update your TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 500 (by LTC UMY or any credible institution) to the IGOV office.

4. After you passed the exam, go visit sigov.umy.ac.id to propose your secondary supervisor by uploading the Berita Acara Seminar Proposal. You need to have 5 times consultation when you got one. Please consult it for each chapter and final check.

5. If you got approval from the principal and secondary supervisor, you succeeded in the UG thesis steps. (ARP)

Fabulous! 6 IGOV Students Receive Certificate of Public Affairs Analyst BNSP

Yogyakarta (30/9) – Six students of the International Program of Government Affairs and Administration Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY have successfully passed and are competent in the Public Affairs Analyst certification scheme. This Competency Certification is intended to test the feasibility of whether IGOV students are eligible to become a Public Relationship or not. The urgency of this scheme is increasing, it can increase personal competitiveness because it becomes a supporting factor as an added value for prospective graduates when looking for work and as an illustration of standardized and measurable technical abilities.

The submission of the Public Affairs Analyst competency certificate was held face-to-face in the AR Main Meeting Room. Fachrudin B Lt. 5 Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta on Friday, September 30, 2022. 6 IGOV UMY students were successfully declared competent in this Public Affairs Analyst scheme, namely Awang Rajaprakoso Purnomo, Anisya Yuli Marzalia, Annisa Jasmine Hana Cholida, Moch. Noerizza Triananta, Muhammad Hagi Rahmansyah, and Raihan Dwipriandi. With these activities, students can be helped to compete when they graduate and be better prepared to compete

The implementation of competency certification in the Public Affairs Analyst scheme from the authority of LSP UMY as a certification body that is officially indexed by the central National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). Through his success in being declared competent and qualified to become an assessor in the Public Policy Occupational Certification Scheme and the Community Empowerment Facilitator Certification Scheme, it is hoped that UMY IP Lecturers can carry out their duties with trust to manifest the improvement of the competence of future generations. Establishing togetherness between generations, IGOV Students Held Sports Activities

Yogyakarta (29/9) – In this era everything human needs are getting easier, for example, when you have to go to a place, you don’t need to walk, but it has been made easier with cars and motorbikes. When you want to eat, but there is no food, just use your smartphone and open the food delivery service application. This convenience is none other because technology is increasingly progressing. The presence of technology that makes everything easier also affects our lifestyle to be lazy to move. Of course, this will greatly affect the health of our bodies. Without realizing it, our body’s resistance will decrease if it is not balanced with exercise, and in the end, we are susceptible to various kinds of diseases.

Therefore, students of the International Program of Government Affairs and Administration Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY) held a sporting event which was held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, which took place at GOR Absolute, Gamping. In this activity, they did Badminton and attended by IGOV UMY students batch 2021 and 2022. With this activity, in addition to maintaining health which as a student is full of activities that just sit and listen to the explanation from the lecturer, this activity was initiated in the hope to improve the chemistry and togetherness between the 2021 batch and the 2022 batch.

Competent, Competent, Competent! 8 Lecturers of IGOV UMY Receive BNSP Assessor Certificate

Yogyakarta (26/9) – BNSP assessor certification in the Public Policy Occupational Certification Scheme and Community Empowerment Facilitator Certification Scheme has been completed by eight UMY Government Administration Lecturers. This competency certification is intended to assess the suitability of IGOV UMY lecturers as assessors, who will be authorized to assess the competence of the tested parties (assessors) in future schemes. The goal of the Public Policy Occupational Certification Course is to train UMY IP Lecturers to be assessors for the Public Policy Analyst scheme. Meanwhile, the Community Empowerment Facilitator Certification Scheme (FPM) is a community empowerment-related scheme.

The need for community empowerment facilitators working under the auspices of the government and non-government organizations is increasing, as is the urgency of this initiative. On Monday (26/9), the BNSP assessor certificate was handed over in person at the Rectorate of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, A.R. Fachrudin A UMY. Carry Out Mbangun Desain Program, The Director of IGOV UMY provides training and assistance in the preparation of BUMDES partner legal entities

Yogyakarta (24/9) – Village Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa) as legal entities are important in supporting the acceleration of rural social and economic development. This is because BUM Desa which already has the status of a legal entity will be more flexible in developing its business, especially the flexibility to collaborate with several partners in business development.

The UMY Village Development Team (in) to strengthen the BUM Desa institution, providing training and assistance in the preparation of legal entities to BUM partners in Katon Margo Village, Sembada, Margokaton Village, and Sleman Regency. The implementation of this activity is based on the results of the identification of problems with partners in the field of management who do not yet have legal status.

“BUM Desa that already has a legal entity will have the flexibility to collaborate with several partners, the results of our problem identification show that BUM Desa Katon Margo Sembada does not yet have a legal entity. The facilitation provided is in the form of strengthening understanding of BUM Desa institutional governance and managing legal entity certificates. So that the BUMDes of Katon Margo Sembada Village had the opportunity to have a dialogue and consult on several problems experienced in the management of BUM Desa and the preparation of legal entities.

In addition to assisting the management of BUM Desa as a legal entity, the Village Development Team(in) also focuses on helping to strengthen the village economy through the establishment of the shoppingdesa.id application. This application will later function as a digital market for Kalurahan Margokaton which is managed directly by BUM Desa to strengthen business units and MSME products. To strengthen the digitalization, BUM Desa digital branding assistance was also provided in the form of logo creation, mascots, and social media management.

Responding to the activity, Irdhon as Carik Kalurahan Margokaton positively welcomed the training and assistance in managing the legal entity status of BUM Desa in his village/sub-district. Irdhon hopes that with this assistance, BUM Desa Margo Katon Sembada will soon be certified as a legal entity so that it can optimize the marketing of BUM Desa products through the shoppingdesa.id application which was also formed by the UMY Village Development Team.

“We are very facilitated by the implementation of this program, especially in the preparation of complete requirements. So hopefully BUM Desa will be certified soon and can develop,” said Irdhon, in his interview after the mentoring session at the Alana Malioboro Hotel.

This activity is a sub-part of a series of Village Development (in) programs in strengthening the village’s digital economy through increasing management capacity and digitizing BUM Desa-UMKM in the 4.0 era. The next step in the Mbangun Desa(in) program is to digitize the products of BUM Desa Katon Margo Sembada and MSMEs through the shoppingdesa.id application; and actively involve Independent Learning Students-Independent Campus (MBKM) to contribute to solving several problems faced by BUM Desa. PK-KM Activities Held, UMY IP Students Enthusiastically Take the Opportunity

Yogyakarta (23/9) – One of the Competition Program programs – Independent Campus (PK-KM) with the Research-Based Apprenticeship and Serving Student Scheme was officially implemented by the Government Science Study Program (IP) of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. The scheme provides opportunities for students to conduct research in government agencies that are partners for internships and community service to develop villages in several areas in Sleman Regency.

This PK-KM activity with a research-based internship scheme and dedicated students can be a substitute for courses that must be taken. The equivalence of Semester Credit Units (SKS) of this activity is calculated based on the implementation time as well as the contributions and roles of students as evidenced in activities under the coordination of the accompanying lecturers. The range of credits that students can get in this whole activity is 20 credits.

Seeing the opportunities that can be obtained, students of IP Study Program UMY enthusiastically take the opportunity to take part in the PK-KM program with a research-based internship scheme and students serve. This can be seen from the large number of student proposals submitted as a condition to join this program.

“Since registration opened on September 14, a total of 21 student proposals have been submitted including serving students and research-based internships. We are still accepting proposals until September 20, 2022. During the acceptance of proposals, we open opportunities to accompany student proposal writing,” said PIC-Based Internship Research, Satria Iman Prasetyo, Thursday (15/9)

Satria added that incoming proposals will be first selected according to the quota scheme chosen by students. It is known that the quota for the research-based internship scheme is 10 students while serving students are 6 groups. Students with the best proposals are entitled to participate in a series of activities and are entitled to several benefits including credit conversion. This was confirmed by Vicky Alfitra Perdana as PIC of Serving Students.

“That’s right, the student with the best proposal has the right to take part in the activity for four months according to the scheme chosen by the student, and is entitled to get funding for activity accommodation. And the most important thing is that all activities are converted to 20 credits,” added Vicky who was met at the UMY Postgraduate Building.

In the same place, one of the students expressed his enthusiasm for participating in this PK-KM activity as a forum to add experience and develop scientific capacity outside the scope of the campus.

“Initially, I was insecure because I saw that other participants had research experience and community empowerment. But if you don’t try to participate in this activity, you are wasting the opportunity to learn more,” said Nindya Tiara Fatikha, a student who proposed to join the PK-KM program with the scheme Serving Student. IGOV English Booster Goes to Bromo!

Yogyakarta (24/8) – IGOV English Booster is a program organized by the International Program of Government Affairs and Administration, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IGOV UMY) which has already ended. The program starts on 24 July 2022 and ends on 23 August 2022 at the Elfast English Course, Pare.

Of course, IGOV UMY not only provides facilities for participants to learn English at Kampung English Pare, but IGOV UMY also provides entertainment facilities where IGOV English Booster participants are facilitated to do a Midnight Tour to Bromo National Park as a form of appreciation for having followed the program well. and provide progressive improvement capabilities.
